Coconut Oil Body Butter
- 1 pound cocoa butter
- 2 ounces apricot kernel oil
- 1 ounce avocado oil
- 1 ounce coconut oil 76°
- 2 ounces almond oil
- .25 ounces meadow foam oil
Melt the oils and cocoa butter together over low heat. You can use a double boiler or microwave set at 50% heat. You can pour into molds and use as a lotion bar, or pour into tins and use as a balm.
(This body butter is great for exceptionally dry skin, as it will remain on the skin to nourish and moisturize.)
Exfoliating Sugar Scrub
- ½ cup coconut oil 76°
- ¼ cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
Using low heat, melt the oils and mix well. Let cool slightly, so that the sugar doesn't melt. Add the honey, and stir well. Add the sugar until the scrub has a coarse consistency. You may add more or less sugar, depending on how coarse you want the scrub. Use in the shower to exfoliate and moisturize dull, dry skin. Wash off thoroughly.
Rose and Coconut Face Cream
- 3 tablespoons almond oil
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon beeswax
- 5 drops vitamin E
- 60 milliliters rosewater
- 3 drops sandal wood oil
Warm the oils in a double boiler over low heat until the beeswax is dissolved. Add the vitamin E, and then slowly add the rosewater. Stir until everything is well mixed, then ass the sandal wood oil. Keep stored in a re-sealable container.
Coconut Conditioner
- 4 ounces coconut oil 76°
- 20 drops lavender oil, or any essential oil
Melt the coconut oil by placing it in a bowl of hot water, then add the essential oil and stir when the oil melts. Since coconut oil 76° melts in your hand, you can simply scoop some into your hand and let it melt there. Add to hair for a deep conditioning, leaving on for 3-4 hours. Shampoo out.
